About Doctor of Ministry, DMin - at Alphacrucis College

  • One subject at 800 level (20 credit point ) to be taken from the area of specialisation (Ministry or Leadership).
  • 70,000 word research thesis (200 credit points) in area of specialisation.

The DMin can be completed in 3 years of full-time study or 6 years of part-time study (maximum candidacy 10 years).

In a rapidly changing society it is crucial that pastors and leaders stay relevant and conversant with new ideas. The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program provides a formal mechanism for this reflection. Utilising a cohort structure, students will interact with others on a similar journey of exploring questions and solutions to important topics of our time, while incorporating best practice from practitioners globally.

The program is coursework based, so there is regular classroom and lecturer interaction. The research component of the program allows students to identify, investigate and address an issue within their own professional life. In this research component, students will develop a body of work (a thesis, which may be one complete essay or an integrated portfolio) that explores issues of relevancy to them and their context. The goal of this thesis component is to not only benefit the student but to also make a contribution to the mission of the Church through its contribution of learning and/or new practice. In this way, students are innovators of new strategies, programs or ways of doing ministry or leadership.

It is a wonderful opportunity to expand your thinking and practice - we invite you to join with us in this exciting new program.

Regards

Pastor Daryl Potts
