Liene from Latvia studies Horticulture & Business Management

At HAS you get stimulated to be an independent thinker. The project work is really important. Nobody holds your hand, you just go for it. And that stimulates the creative and resourceful mind! All the excursions we get to make trigger your imagination. They make you realise the enormous variety of possible jobs in horticulture. Possibilities you would never have thought of yourself. You learn about the biological aspects of growing things but you also learn to look at what you grow as a lucrative product. As something you can put in the market, as a commercial possibility.

Max from Germany studies International Food & Agribusiness

“What I like most about IFA so far is that our lecturers come from all kinds of different backgrounds. Some have worked for the European Union or the United Nations, others for NGOs or the private sector. It’s great to learn from their experiences. I can only recommend anybody who is interested in food and sustainability to choose this study programme. I think it’s the best option out there.”

Student

Eric from Ghana studies International Food & Agribusiness

“Before I came to the Netherlands I worked as a supply chain officer for a big multinational company where I was responsible for gathering market information. I realised that sustainability was a big issue, so I specifically chose this study programme to learn more about that area. I think in the near future I’ll go back to Ghana to help improve the agricultural industry there.”
