Scientific Calculator £10. All of the books required for the course are available from the library. The University also has PC labs and a laptop loan service. However, many students choose to buy some of the core textbooks for the course and/or a laptop. Students may also need to print their assignments and other documents. Campus printing costs start from 5p per page. Estimated costs are £300 for a laptop up to £100 each year for books and printing.

This one-year top-up degree offers direct entry at Level 6 to students who wish to utilise their current qualifications to develop skills in industry-standard accounting practices. The programme is suited to those wishing to gain expertise in assessing the business performance through corporate financial measures and developing essential leadership, project and operational management skills. 

Your career prospects after the course

This top-up degree will allow you to add an honours degree to your CV and demonstrate to employers that you have gained knowledge in accounting practices.

Graduates from our accounting courses are well equipped to pursue a wide variety of careers and this degree will allow you to continue onto professional accounting examinations with providers such as ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW, where you can become a qualified accountant.

You would also be suited to move into careers in corporate finance, banking and professional services.

GCSE grade C or grade 4 in English Language and Mathematics. Level 2 Functional Skills English and Mathematics also accepted.

BA (Hons) Accounting (top-up) is a Degree programme for applicants who have previously studied and successfully completed one of the following:

a relevant HND with a grade of Merit or above,

a relevant Foundation Degree with a score of 55% or above 

Or

Level 5 of a relevant undergraduate degree with a score of 55% or above.
