About Computer Games Systems at The School of Science and Technology, Nottingham Trent University

What do you study?

This course aims to build and develop your understanding of computer games design and the variety of advanced software solutions available for games creation. You will also gain a deep appreciation of the challenges and skills required for the creation and management of large games projects.

How do you study?
  • Terms one – three: Six taught modules
  • Term four - Research project

The course offers an excellent combination of theoretical studies and practical experience through coursework assignments, software development and group projects culminating in a significant and practical Masters project individually tailored to meet your career aspirations.

How will I be supported?

MSc Computer Games Systems is taught by highly experienced staff members, many of whom are involved with cutting-edge research that ensures their teaching remains at the forefront of computing technology. We are very proud to have achieved 80% world-leading or internationally excellent research impact (REF 2014).

Much of our research is internationally recognised, particularly in the areas of Games for Learning and in Security.

Throughout your course you will be supported by your course leader and personal tutor, who will work with you individually. A comprehensive induction programme will provide you with essential information about the course, including access to the library and virtual learning portal.

And for students hoping to take a placement, comprehensive support and advice is also available from the School’s Placement team.
