About Audio and Music Technology at Nottingham Trent University

This course is a one-year top up degree designed for those students who have completed a Level 5 qualification in the subject or other relevant areas, and wish to further pursue their studies further to Level 6 and a BSc honours degree.

The course is designed to provide you with further knowledge and experience of the subject area, while also allowing you to focus on a particular specialism.

How you're taught

You'll develop your knowledge and specialism through lab sessions, workshops, studio sessions, lectures, seminars, tutorials, team working, independent learning, Industry input, supervision meetings and field trips.

Degree Show

In your final year you will exhibit your work as part of Confetti's Degree Show. This event includes all final year students across Confetti's courses and is a great platform for you to showcase your work to key influencers across the creative industries.

Careers and employability

This course has been designed to prepare you for a range of careers and progression paths, including sound designer, audio producer / engineer, mastering engineer, technology R&D, acoustician, post production engineer and further study at postgraduate level.

You are encouraged to interact, present and communicate with relevant creative technology industries, allowing you to enhance your communication skills on multiple levels. By refining your professional skills, this will help define your career and future employment direction.


This course is taught at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies in their dedicated HE Centre and studio facilities.

The tuition fee for UK home students joining NTU in 2018/19 on a full-time undergraduate/foundation degree programme, will be £9,250.

The fee for those who have a year-long placement as part of a sandwich course, or spend a year studying or working abroad will be published here once confirmed.
