World-wide Recognized Qualification EUR-ACE ®:

Mechanical Engineering in Savonia University of Applied Sciences was the first European Union accredited engineering programme in Finland in 2014. There are still just two other programmes in Finland having the same status. So the high level quality of teaching and operations are proved by the EU.

Mechanical Engineering studies lead to the title of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng, in Finnish: Insinööri (AMK)). With EUR-ACE status it qualifies students to apply for master degree programmes in the European Union. The EU qualification is recognized as a mark of quality all over the world.

The EUR-ACE evaluation is maintained by the organization called ENAEE. This is a European technology organization that evaluates programmes for engineers. The EUR-ACE status makes sure that the programme meets the quality standards of the European Union. Informally they are spoken of as European engineers. Graduates can work as chartered professional engineers throughout Europe.

Goals of this course:

In the Eastern Finland there are very strong technology companies which have products that are well-known throughout the world. The degree programme of Mechanical Engineering educates experts to these companies of high technology, to lead and manage international technology projects. Mechanical Engineering is a diverse programme making it possible for a young expert to work in the fields of both mechanical engineering and industrial management.

A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering focuses on technological knowhow on product design and development and manufacturing technology. In addition, the studies concerning industrial management concentrate on project management, marketing, sales, business economics, procurement, supply chains, international business operations and quality management.

An important part of the programme is that students get familiar with operating effectively in a variety of interpersonal networks.
