These are typical questions that a graduate of theMaster's programme Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) canaddress. In a progressively technological society, IEM engineerswill increasingly become leaders of technological innovation anddesign.
A Student of the Master's degree programme IndustrialEngineering and Management (IEM) learns how to deal with practicalproblems in businesses. A focus lies on how to find solutions toproblems while taking on a technical and scientific designperspective. The general aim of the IEM Master's programme is totrain engineers to acquire a thorough overview of all primary andsecondary business processes, especially with respect to the designof a technological product or process. 
More than its nearest competitors, the IEM Master's degree programme of the University of Groningen focuses on technology.About 65% of the curriculum is dedicated to engineering andtechnology, and about 35% focuses on management and business. Youcan choose between two specialisations:

    A universitary Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering andManagement or equivalent degree. A special pre-master programme isavailable for holders of a technical Dutch HBO or WO Bachelor's degree in the field of engineering. For details, please contact thestudent counselor of the programme.
