About Economics, BA (Hons) - at University of Windsor

Economics is a fascinating area with an enormous breadth of influence. Its ideas appear in a variety of different subjects and professions such as research assistance for financial institutions, government work, teaching, human resource management, law, forensic economics and much more.

Our Economics program focuses on three key areas:

1) Microeconomics focuses on the production and consumption of individual goods and services as well as the merits of various means of allocating these goods between competing users;

2) Macroeconomics focuses on issues related to inflation, unemployment, interest and exchange rates, economic growth and distribution on a national or international scale; and

3) Econometrics focuses on the means of analyzing data to inferreliable conclusions. These basic ideas are necessary to study specific issues and are extended in more advanced classes.

Bachelor of Arts (General or Honours) - B.A.

At UWindsor, we offer a number of interesting and valuable double majors, both for those students interested in specializing in economics and those who simply desire a better understanding of it. Our most popular choices combine Economics with Business, International Relations and Development Studies, and Quantitative Economics (with the use of Statistics and Mathematics).

Bachelor of Science (Honours) - B.Sc.

A more technically demanding program than the Honours Bachelor of Arts program, requiring greater theoretical, mathematical and empirical sophistication

Designed for students interested in graduate studies or work as economists
