Immigration law is a new and expanding field. This MRes is a pre-doctoral programme designed to provide a critical, research-led approach to immigration law along with excellent training in the key skills needed for doctoral level study.
Get a comprehensive overview of the major legal and theoretical issues concerning immigration law and policy from a domestic, comparative, European and international perspective with this fascinating MRes.
This dynamic and expanding field offers scope for interdisciplinary study and collaboration. New legislation and critical arguments are legally defined and you will engage in critical analysis and discussion of a range of topics, from security and human rights to cultural diversity and asylum law.
You will be offered a varied selection of taught modules from which you can choose, enabling you to gear your qualification to set you on your desired career trajectory. This includes compulsory modules in research design and qualitative and quantitative methods which will give you invaluable skills needed for further study.
You will join an international cohort of students from a range of disciplines across Queen Mary, King's College London and Imperial College London, as part of the training offered by the ESRC funded London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership.
You will also be able to attend a Critical Thinking and Writing in Law course to improve your writing and research in law skills.
