About Development Education, MA - at University College London (UCL)

This masters degree will:

  • introduce a range of perspectives and approaches to development education
  • develop, through critical reflection, the skills you need to reassess the relationship between theory and practice in development education
  • examine where and how development education contributes to broader educational and development policy goals in a range of societies.

Who is this programme for?

People who manage and deliver development education or related programmes, particularly within NGOs, professional bodies and government departments. Professionals in teaching, youth work, further, community or adult education or higher education who apply development education principles and practices within their work environment.

Entry requirements

A good first degree or equivalent, and an interest in or understanding of global and development issues within education and society. Experience of working in development education or a related field is desirable.

By coursework (usually one or two assignments per module) and a 20,000- word dissertation or 10,000-word report.

Entry requirements

1. Students are normally required to have a minimum overall IELTS score of 7.0 for direct entry, with a score of no lower than 6.0 for writing and 6.5 for reading. 2. A good first degree or equivalent, and an interest in or understanding of global and development issues within education and society. Experience of working in development education or a related field is desirable.
