About Islamic Studies, MRes - at University of Birmingham

The MRes is a research degree that also includes taught components. It may be followed as an end in itself, while it also provides an excellent foundation for doctoral research. It is intended for anyone wishing to move beyond undergraduate work into research, while it offers the help of taught modules to develop research and related skills. The programme enables you to explore most aspects of Islamic Studies, including Islamic history and philosophy, and contemporary religious and political thought.

Entry requirements

Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band; TOEFL 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking, 21 in Writing, or PTE Academic 59 in all 4 skills.
