About Clinical and Community Psychology, DClinPsy - at University of Exeter

This programme prepares trainees for work as clinical psychologists in the National Health Service. Successful completion of the three-year programme confers chartered clinical psychologist status and the programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society. Those who join the programme are both University postgraduate students, spending part of their week on academic study in term time at the School, and trainee psychologists, working under supervision in NHS Trusts in Devon, Somerset or Dorset. Our aim is to produce graduates who will make a meaningful contribution to the users of the NHS, the services themselves and the clinical psychology profession. The academic programme is enriched and informed by the experiential learning gained on clinical placements. The programme works in partnership with local NHS providers and has strong positive links with the region’s clinical psychologists who contribute to teaching and are able to offer a wide range of clinical experience in a variety of settings.

Entry requirementsBPS Graduate Basis for Registration and normally a degree in Psychology at 2:1 level.
