About War and Society, MA - at University of Exeter

The programme integrates the study of differing types of warfare, from international coalition conflict to civil wars and ‘terrorist’ insurgencies, with close analysis of the effects of such wars on local populations and civil society. Modules on the programme mirror both the collaborative and individual research being undertaken by the Department’s Centre for the Study of War, State and Society, which brings together outstanding international scholars whose expertise ranges across economic, social, political, strategic, military and naval history. Students are able to pursue courses that capitalise on new research findings and current debates in the history of conflict, state development, and societal breakdown.

Entry requirements Normally a 2:1 Honours degree or equivalent in History or a related discipline.
