OverviewThe BA (Hons) Broadcast and Digital Journalism course has a focus on providing you with the right skillset to succeed as a broadcaster or a digital media journalist within the competitive broadcast and digital media landscape.
On this course, you will develop your communication skills, learn creative techniques and enhance your technological skills to prepare you for the stimulating, demanding and exciting world of working with social media and digital technologies alongside radio and television.

As a graduate of this course, you will have the knowledge and experience to apply your understanding of both broadcast and online journalism industries into practical real-life scenarios, using broadcast and digital journalism techniques and skills you will have learnt on the course.

• newsgathering
• documentary production
• broadcasting news
• live magazine programming
• evaluating broadcast policy
• journalistic law

During your studies, you will be faced with new challenging ways of considering how stories can be told and events can be reported in a range of formats and settings. You will be encouraged to reflect on your own practice to identify learning and development goals, helping motivate you to achieve to the best of your potential. 
The course design and delivery takes into account the rapidly developing news media landscape. You will be trained in a variety of journalistic forms, including video, radio, and digital journalism. News days are also an integral part of the course.
You will also have the opportunity to gain valuable, relevant, industry based work experience which will give you an insight into the employment opportunities within the sector.

Please note fees are paid for each year of study unless otherwise stated. You will be required to re-enrol and pay fees at the beginning of each academic year. Fees may be subject to government regulations on fee increases. Future inflationary increases will be applied to each subsequent year of the course, subject to government regulations on fee increases.
