 As a Falmouth online MA Illustration student, you’ll be encouraged to push creative boundaries and both question and influence new thinking around illustration. The modules you’ll cover during the course are:

  • Ideas Generation – Critically examine the different contexts and applications of illustration with a view to positioning your own practice
  • Visual Language – Explore approaches to the core mark-making skills relevant to illustration and strengthen your observational drawing skills
  • Narrative – Examine the role of storytelling within visual communication across all contexts
  • Professional Practice – Develop professional skills and build your professional industry networks
  • Major Project – Develop a body of work that reflects your chosen pathway. The module will culminate in the launch of a course-specific website that will serve as an online exhibition of your work. Each cohort’s online exhibition will be archived and made accessible to the industry via a course ‘portal site’
  • Study completely online;
  • Or study online and attend optional face-to-face networking events

 

Whichever option you choose, throughout your studies you’ll be supported by a team of industry experts who will guide your learnings through:

  •  Online presentations to introduce you to key concepts
  • Small group and class discussions to encourage peer interaction and collaboration
  • Online critiques to test your knowledge and ideas, and as a valuable opportunity to get feedback from your peers and tutors
  • Individual and group tutorials
  • Independent study

Entry requirements

To apply for this course, you should have:

  • An honours degree or Level 6 equivalent qualification
  • Proof of proficiency in English (an IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in Reading, Speaking, Writing and Listening or equivalent proof) if English isn’t your first language
