About International Commercial Law, Postgraduate Certificate - at Robert Gordon University
The course is designed in such a way that it is suitable for recent graduates who wish to secure better positions in law and business as it provides them with an increased working knowledge and greater depth of background information in international commercial matters.
The programme aims to provide the legal practitioner, the business owner, employee, or executive, and the recent graduate with current and practical knowledge about the law as it relates to international business. The international focus of the programme is suitable for students worldwide as well as those within the United Kingdom.
Individual modules may be of interest to and are available for members of the law profession in order to comply with Continuing Professional Development/Continuing Legal Education requirements.

Semester 3:DissertationOnce the Postgraduate Diploma stage has been completed, students are expected to present a written research proposal in respect of their intended dissertation topic. Once approved, this will normally form the basis of the Masters thesis. Students undertake research and prepare the dissertation independently but under supervision by a member of academic staff.
Entry requirementsFor entry to the course you should be: a law graduate in any jurisdiction, or a lawyer admitted to practice in any jurisdiction, or a non-law graduate with substantial law-related work experience such as a contracts or legal administrator within a business. All international students, for whom English is not their first language, must provide evidence of linguistic ability, by gaining either IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent in TOEFL prior to receiving an unconditional offer of a place on the course.
