Entry requirements

The normal entry requirement is a good first degree in a relevant scientific subject. Students are allocated a minimum of two supervisors and undergo both generic and subject-specific skills training as part of their programme. In addition, students are supported by a network of advice, guidance and support teams, both within the University and specific to the Institute. Student progression is monitored regularly during the period of study, culminating in the submission of a thesis, which is assessed by viva voce examination with internal and external examiners.
