Course Overview
This course will look at the concepts of lead and lag process safety indicators, layers of protection (procedural and physical), safeguard registers and bow-tie diagrams. Workplace emergency scenarios relating to the hazards at the learner's work place will be considered and workplace emergency plans and scenarios will be evaluated and compared to the work's major emergency plan. The potential impact of major accident hazards on people, plant, the environment and the integrity of the business (both on and off site) will be considered.

Assessment
A written assignment equivalent to 1500 words outlining the learner's role and responsibilities within process safety at their place of work.
Further Information
You will be required to attend two half-day teaching sessions at the Carmarthen Campus. These days will provide you with a secure foundation for your study. Throughout this module you will be supported by a Tutor. This support can either be face-to-face, via telephone, email or Skype - or a mix of all these. You will be required to complete the module within three months of the induction.
