University of Leicester

History

The university was founded in 1921 as Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland College, received a royal charter in 1950 as University College of Leicester, and became the University of Leicester in 1957.It is located in the East Midlands, about 160km north of London.

International students must apply to the University of Leicester via the online UCAS service. Entry requirements to degree courses will vary depending on the level of study and type of course chosen. English language proficiency will also be taken into consideration as part of the application process.
