With around 90 million native speakers in the world of the German language, and millions more using German as a second language, German is an important language, particularly in European business. Studying a degree in German will encompass both Germanic history and culture and literature, as well as giving you a strong linguistic foundation in the language.
Graduates of degrees in German can go on to a broad range of careers, applying the communication skills they have acquired into industries such as business and management, marketing and advertising, communications and politics.
Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes, including lectures, tutorials, seminars and group projects. Depending on your course, you may also have the option to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:
